Day 1: Discover Nizwa & Camp at Jebel Shams

Begin your journey with a morning pickup from Muscat (7–8 AM) and drive towards the historic city of Nizwa, once the capital of Oman.
Explore the majestic Nizwa Fort, known for its remarkable architecture and panoramic views from the top. Wander through its ancient corridors and step into Oman’s rich heritage.

Stroll through the bustling Nizwa Souq, where you’ll find local treasures like silver jewelry, spices, and handmade crafts. Take time to absorb the culture and grab some authentic souvenirs.

Continue to the charming mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, where ancient irrigation channels and lush date terraces offer a glimpse into traditional Omani life.

Enjoy a local lunch in Al Hamra before heading up the winding mountain roads to Jebel Shams, Oman’s highest peak.
Set up camp on the mountainside, take in the sunset views, and gather for a BBQ dinner under the stars, followed by a briefing for your big hike ahead.

Day 2: Conquer the Summit of Jebel Shams

Rise early (around 5 AM) to a crisp mountain morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast at camp.
Pack your day bag and prepare for a challenging but rewarding hike to the summit of Jebel Shams.

The trail offers rugged terrain, dramatic cliffside views, and breathtaking landscapes. As you ascend, the beauty of the Al Hajar mountains unfolds around you.

Reach the summit, the highest point in Oman, and pause to enjoy your packed lunch while soaking in panoramic views that stretch endlessly across the horizon.

After a moment of well-earned rest, descend back to base camp, proud of your achievement.

Your adventure concludes with a scenic return drive to Muscat, arriving between 6–8 PM, your heart full of memories from this unforgettable mountain journey.

Note: The trek to the summit is steep and demanding. Participants must be physically fit and capable of carrying their own water and supplies for the day.

    • Ankle-support hiking boots

    • Large-capacity hiking backpack (to carry 4L water, lunch, and personal items)

    • Light windproof/rain jacket

    • Fleece or lightweight warm layer

    • Headlamp or flashlight (recommended)

    • Sunhat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
