Day 1: Arrival and Camp Setup

  • 7:30 AM: Pickup from Muscat, followed by a scenic 2-hour drive to the Salmah Plateau in the Eastern Hajar Mountains.

  • 10:00 AM: Arrival at the base camp site. Meet your expert guides for a safety briefing and equipment fitting.

  • 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Free time to relax, explore the plateau, or prepare for the next day’s caving.

  • 5:00 PM: Camp setup and briefing on the technical aspects of the cave descent.

  • 7:00 PM: Enjoy a hearty dinner around the campfire beneath the stars.

  • Overnight camping at the plateau.

Day 2: The Caving Adventure

  • 6:00 AM: Wake up to a fresh mountain morning and enjoy a light breakfast at camp.

  • 7:00 AM: Gear up and begin the descent into the 7th Hole cave. Experience a thrilling vertical rappel of over 400 feet into one of the world’s largest underground chambers.

  • 10:00 AM: Explore the vast cave system with your guides, navigating rope climbs, natural formations, and crystal-clear subterranean pools.

  • 12:00 PM: Pause for a packed lunch inside the cave, surrounded by awe-inspiring natural beauty.

  • 1:00 PM: Begin the ascent, carefully climbing back to the surface using ropes and safety gear.

  • 3:30 PM: Return to base camp to pack up and refresh.

  • 4:00 PM: Depart the plateau for the drive back to Muscat.

  • 6:30 PM: Arrival in Muscat, concluding your unforgettable underground adventure.

Min Age: 16+
Note: This is a technical caving experience. Participants must be physically fit, have a head for heights, and be comfortable with roped descents. No prior caving experience required, but a sense of adventure is essential.

Packing List

  • Comfortable, durable clothing (long sleeves and trousers recommended)

  • Gloves (for rope handling)

  • Hiking boots with good grip

  • Backpack large enough to carry 3–4L of water and personal gear

  • Windbreaker or lightweight jacket

  • Headlamp (we provide one, but feel free to bring your own)

  • All caving and safety equipment (helmet, harness, ropes, carabiners, etc.)

  • Expert caving guides

  • 1 night wild camping with all gear (tent, sleeping bag, mat, plates, cups, etc.)

  • 1 x dinner

  • 1 x breakfast

  • 1 x packed lunch

  • Transport from/to Muscat

  • Permits and entry fees
